Let’s face it, nobody likes to revise for exams. Especially when it comes to the Easter holidays when you’d rather relax and eat chocolate! But this time is a crucial revision period before the upcoming exams over the summer. So, we have put together a list of some great tips to help motivate you to get cracking!

Best ways to revise for exams at Easter
1. Get into a routine
You may have been told numerous times to make a revision timetable, but they really do work! Scheduling in certain subjects on certain days and giving yourself regular breaks (a quick break every 40 minutes works well) will prevent you from feeling overwhelmed by work. They also help alleviate hours of procrastination and is so beneficial when you revise for exams.
Scheduling in revision early is a great way to stay focused and kick start your revision days over the Easter holidays. If you find yourself getting bored of your routine or find you are not doing enough work, try swapping subjects around or revising at different times and taking more breaks.
2. Switch up revision techniques
Experimenting with different revision techniques is a fantastic way to make Easter revision a bit more fun! You could do anything from making a cartoon mind map or re-enacting a biological process. Although it may feel silly; the wackier your technique the more likely you are to remember it, so play around and see what suits you. You could also ask a friend to join in if you feel bored by yourself, seeing another motivated person can boost your enthusiasm when it comes to how to revise for exams. Just make sure you both stay focused!
3. Keep your goals in mind to revise for exams
Whatever inspires you to do well in your exams is exactly what you should be thinking before revising. Whether this means having a picture of the university you want to go to on your desk, rewarding yourself with an Easter egg or writing out a motivational quote or tracking your progress in past papers, it’s vital to feel inspired and makes revision seem a lot more worthwhile.
4. Break information into small chunks to revise for exams
Every little bit really does count when it comes to exam preparation so try not to become over-whelmed by the volume of information and instead separate each topic up into smaller subjects. This way you can focus on small bits of revision material at a time and properly learn it. Having a checklist of each mini topic is a great way to track your progress and revise for exams.
5. Taking some time out to relax!
Relaxing is key when it comes to staying motivated. There is no one who can continually work without any breaks, so don’t feel bad for taking time out. Try activities that refresh your mind – you could try going on a run or spending time with friends. Just make sure you take time out – your body and mind will thank you for it!
