What is sailing on the coast of Croatia like?

Croatia is one of the best sailing locations in the world. It holds a lot of experiences and Islands to explore. And what better way to explore this area than with a yacht.

Good thing is that yacht rental options in Croatia vary widely in size, accommodating both small and large groups, ensuring a perfect fit for any party. Smaller vessels, like the Lagoon 55, are ideal for intimate gatherings, providing comfort and privacy for a small group of travellers. On the other hand, larger yachts provide ample space and amenities, making them suitable for big groups looking to share a luxurious and expansive sea-going experience. These bigger models are not only more spacious but also equipped with enhanced features for entertainment and relaxation, making them perfect for longer journeys with more guests. Overall, whether you’re planning a cozy family outing or a grand party with friends, there’s a yacht to meet every need and exceed expectations.

Let’s talk about some stunning Islands you might want to explore while sailing in this historic European country.

Hvar

Hvar is one of Croatia’s oldest towns and islands — nestled between Brac, Vis, and Korula off the Dalmatian coast.

The island’s most prominent features are extensive, rich coastal plains and freshwater springs.

Along with vineyards, olive gardens, fruit orchards, and lavender fields, its hillsides are covered in pine woods.

Mild winters and warm, sun-filled summers define the climate.

Due to its central location on the Adriatic sailing routes, Hvar is critical in directing commerce up and down the Adriatic, to Italy, and across the Mediterranean.

Korčula

While on your sailing trip, you should stop at Korcula.  It is greatly recognized for its lush forests and lovely old towns.

The old walled city of Korcula Town preserves a beauty unmatched by the Adriatic. It is one of the greenest Adriatic islands, flanked by Aleppo pines, olive groves, and vineyards.

Zlarin

Zlarin provides an ideal location for relaxation and sunbathing. It features a small museum and a jewellery shop dedicated to the island’s history of collecting and processing red coral.

There are various beautiful cafés where you can enjoy the local atmosphere and fine restaurants where you can dine. It has a peaceful, calm, and magnificent atmosphere.

The best seasons for sailing in Croatia

The sailing season in Croatia runs from April until mid-October, when the weather is usually at its best. Certain months are preferable to others, depending on the type of travel experience you want.

There are fewer people and more possibilities to be surrounded by nothing but the infinite blue sea and the Dalmatian islands from April to mid-June, as well as late September and October.

Summer breezes in July and August are ideal for sailing in the sun, while September and October are ideal for swimming and sunbathing.

How much does it cost to hire a yacht in Croatia?

Several factors influence the cost of hiring a yacht in Croatia. Quality of trip and pricing, for example. An all-inclusive cruise on a luxury yacht will most probably cost more than sailing on a middle-class yacht.

Furthermore, the boat you choose to sail on and the timing of your holiday determine the cost of your Croatia yacht rental. You may, however, adjust your trip to your budget because there are several excursions and boats to choose from.

When to get the best deals

You may take advantage of early booking discounts as charter operators set their prices for the upcoming season. Last-minute deals depend on how well charter companies perform with bookings, but as the season approaches, expect to see more of them.

Discounts of up to 30% or more are possible. The drawback of waiting for a last-minute discount is that the boat you wish to hire may not be available when you want to make your reservation.

Skippers

If you have experience in sailing, you don’t necessarily need a skipper. However, if you are a beginner or want to spend your whole sailing trip resting and soaking up the sun, you will need to hire a skipper. A skipper assists you in sailing your boat and planning your travels.
