Car review: 7 reasons to buy a Pajero Sport as your family car

The search for a family car is likely to be one of the most extensive searches you will ever do. Especially if you’re like me and have to change your car when you found out twins were on the way. But have you considered the Pajero Sport?

It must be safe, dependable, and have plenty of space, and if you’re anything like us, it must also be comfortable, up to date on technology, and visually appealing.

This is a collaborative post

The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is sleek, rugged, dependable, and practical all at the same time. I may add that the seven seats are also a sight to see!

If you’re a family that likes road trips and adventures, it’s pretty much everything you’d want in a family car, just as it is for an explorer.

Why Choose a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport?

There is no denying that the Pajero Sport is a head-turner. Its distinctive “face,” with bold grille lines and lashings of chrome, looks as if it belongs on the set of a post-apocalyptic sci-fi film.

Styling of the Pajero Sport

The Pajero Sport’s rear LED light signature is equally futuristic.

The front and back skid plates do more than look rugged and imposing; they protect the Pajero Sport’s underside, which is designed to take on a variety of obstacles.

All variations come standard with LED headlights, LED fog lights, cornering lights, electrically adjustable (and folding) side mirrors, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Interior Design, Spaciousness, Comfort, and Ease

For the front passengers, the centre console included an HDMI port, roof-mounted air vents,  and two extra USB ports for the second-row passengers.

A two-point plug is perfect for road trips if a larger gadget requires electricity.

For added convenience, there’s a multi-function leather-wrapped steering wheel with rake and reach adjustments, as well as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and voice control.

Because the Pajero Sport’s basic voice control isn’t very adept at comprehending natural speech, Apple Car Play and Android Auto are standard features on all versions.

For a lengthy drive, cold beverages can be stored in the rear central armrest with two cupholders if you have younger kids.

Each Pajero Sport is equipped with leather seats and a driver’s seat that is electrically adjustable.

It has just three places for child seats, with ISOFIX anchoring hooks on each of the second row’s rear seats and three top-tether restraints over the back of the middle row.

The third-row seats fold flat when not used, providing practical loading space capable of swallowing camping gear or vast quantities of vacation baggage.

The second row has a reclining feature and can also be tilted forward to carry oddly-shaped things.

You can store smaller items in the Pajero Sport’s underfloor storage compartments.

Drive, Power, and Fuel Consumption of the Pajero Sport

The driving quality of the Pajero Sport is comparable to that of Aladdin’s carpet.

The ride is so comfortable and relaxing, whether you’re on the highway or traversing the worst washed-away dirt roads.

The Pajero Sport’s eight-speed automatic transmission is outstanding, keeping the rpm low at more incredible speeds.

In terms of driving capability, the Pajero has a reputation for crawling up and down rocks and ascending endless dunes.

Unlike the Toyota Fortuner, the Pajero Sport has a trump card: hill descent control that works in reverse!

With two-wheel drive high range, full-time four-wheel drive with low and high ranges, and a locked centre differential, ideal for off-roading.

A rear differential lock is standard on the Pajero Sport GLS and Exceed.

Safety

The following safety features are standard on all 2022 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport models:

  • Autonomous emergency braking
  • Cruise control that adapts
  • Airbags-front, front side, and curtain
  • Rear parking sensors and rear camera

When the Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System detects a nearby obstacle in your path, a buzzer sounds and a warning light appears.

If your foot unintentionally pushes down on the accelerator, the engine power is also automatically regulated.

Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Safety Evolution body construction protects against the severity of an impact by channelling energy away from the Pajero sport’s cabin.

There’s no semi-autonomous safety technology like adaptive cruise control and lane change assist, but the Pajero Sport Exceed is more inexpensive.

Conclusion

The Pajero Sport is simple to drive, comfortable, and pleasant to live with daily, and it performs well on every imaginable surface.

It’s also functional, attractive, unique, fuel-efficient and good value for money.

For families looking for a vehicle that can do it all, the Pajero Sport is an excellent choice. It’ll be a treasured companion on every journey.
