I’m not sure about your kids, but my boys love a fun park. And just about everything in it. So it’s just as well Springfields Fun Park in Cornwall was no exception.
AD | We were given free entry into Springfields Fun Park for the purpose of this review, but all opinions and pictures are my own.
We paid it a visit for the day whilst we were on holiday for a week in Cornwall, and it’s actually the second time we’ve been – the last time I was heavily pregnant with the twins. So I knew what to expect, and that all three boys would have a brilliant time.
So much to do to easily make a full day at Springfields
There’s so much to do you can make a whole day of it, and even though the massive indoor soft play was shut because of stupid Covid, the kids hardly noticed as they were too busy racing from one thing to the other outside.
From the car park you can see a traditional Carousel so that was the first thing they wanted to head to. The five year old’s face was a picture, and even the Other Half and I went on with a twin each.
Then they wanted to offload the animal feed we’d bought, so it was over to the goats. You can buy food for ducks, goats and fish. I’m not sure who was more excited by the experience – the goats or the boys! The fish were huge and although they are obviously well-fed they were more than happy to oblige the boys with some more.
Springfields Fun Park boasts one huge outside area for the kids to run around safely with activities and equipment all over the place. It also has four lakes and an eight acre ancient woodland in Quoit Wood which you can explore.
My boys loved the play park equipment with swings, seesaws, tunnels, climbing frames and a zipwire – the huge sandpit being a particular favourite.
Springfields is every young kid’s dream
There is also a massive wooden fort, pirate ship and wooden train for them to clamber over. It’s like every young kid’s dream!
There are free tractor trailer rides around the park at certain times of the day, and you’ll notice little kids dotted around the route stopping and waving at you. It’s very cute.
Although Springfields isn’t an actual farm, there are so many animals there, the kids will love it. We said hello to donkeys, ponies, alpacas, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, baby tortoises, and lots of chickens, ducks and Canadian geese wandering around the park.
In fact the highlight of the day for two of my boys was the pony ride. It was a first time for Twin One. He’s always telling me that when he grows up he’s going to ride a horse! He didn’t move a muscle the entire way round the paddock (I was allowed to walk with him). But was beaming afterwards and has talked about it lots since.
Pony rides and rowing boats
Whilst the five year old and Twin One were on the ponies, the Other Half took Twin Two for a leisurely row on the boating lake. Although not entirely sure it was that leisurely for Daddy, but the three year old was in his element.
Another first (and highlight) for the twins was a go on the dodgems. The Other Half took one for the team (yeah right, he’s a car fiend) and went on four times in a row to take each of the boys individually, plus one more for luck. The joys of having a 2 to 3 adult to child ratio. Someone always has to be waiting with a child whilst the others have fun. The five year old is already looking forward to next year when he’s hoping his legs will be long enough to reach the pedals so he can go on by himself.
The boys also loved all the rides and roundabouts at Springfields. There were lots of Carousel-type rides for them to try out, as well as go karts and trampolines.
And if you want to stay for more than a day, Springfields has its own campsite which looked great.
If you’re in Cornwall, Springfields is a must
We visited a few weeks after the Covid 19 restrictions were lifted, and felt totally safe at Springfields. There was a lot of hand sanitiser dotted around, although some were empty. And things like the tractor trailer was cleaned after each ride. The indoor play barn was still closed which was a shame. But it looked like loads of fun, and had a special area for under 2s.
If you’re ever in Cornwall, then you should really pay it a visit. It’s 20 minutes outside of Newquay, but once you’re down this way anywhere is reachable for a day out.
This is the second time we’ve been, and we’ll definitely be back. Next time you’ll no doubt find us on the dodgems for the whole day…

This is a lovely review and looks like a fun day out. I’ve never heard of Springfields, but we love going down to Devon and Cornwall so will be sure to book a visit when we’re next down! Shame about the soft play, but sounds like there was more than enough going on to entertain the little ones.
What a gem of a place to take the kids to – so much to do! Good to know about the campsite thanks – staying over will give us more time to make the best of it all.
Awesome review! How lovely of them to give you free entrance to the park for you and your family! 😊 Looks like you all had a good time and enjoyed it! ☺️
